FIFA charges up to 75,000 dollars for packages at Mexico City Stadium boxes

FIFA is requiring box owners at Estadio Ciudad de México to purchase hospitality packages costing up to 75,000 dollars for the five 2026 World Cup matches.

The premium package includes foods such as chicken wings, cheese boards, salads, burgers and sandwiches, plus premium alcoholic drinks and sodas for 12 people across the five matches. A basic package costs 35,400 dollars and covers food and water but no premium alcohol. Box owners cannot bring their own food or purchase items inside the stadium. The measure stems from private ownership contracts valid until 2065 that prevent FIFA from directly controlling more than 16,000 seats. The stadium will host the opening match between Mexico and South Africa on June 11 2026, along with other group stage and knockout games. The Asociación Mexicana de Titulares de Palcos y Plateas secured precautionary measures to uphold the contracts, though the packages remain in place.
