FIFTY FIFTY faces backlash after posing with investor David Yong

Fourth-generation girl group FIFTY FIFTY is drawing online criticism after appearing in a video with investor David Yong, who faces 17 criminal charges in Singapore.

Yong posted the footage on Instagram to mark the members becoming promotional ambassadors for Hanam City. The clip shows the group members alongside the investor, who has ties to their label ATTRAKT through his company Power Entertainment.

Yong was first charged in 2024 with four counts of falsifying accounts for Evergreen Group Holdings, followed by one additional count in 2025. In March 2026 he faced twelve more charges for conspiring to make false entries and issuing illegal loans, bringing the total to 17.

ATTRAKT had previously stated it had cut ties with Yong after the initial charges, yet netizens noted recent sightings of him with the label’s CEO and his firm’s role as a partner on FIFTY FIFTY’s Asia Fancon Tour. Fans of former members Ablume have been especially vocal about the association.
