Finnish prime minister visits China to deepen trade ties

In 2025, bilateral trade between China and Finland exceeded $8 billion, while two-way investment stock surpassed $23 billion. Orpo will lead a delegation of over 20 senior executives from Finnish companies in key sectors such as machinery, forestry, innovation, clean energy, and food, demonstrating Finland's strong willingness to deepen economic and trade relations.

During the visit, the two sides are preparing for the sixth meeting of the China-Finland Committee for Innovative Business Cooperation, with around 50 companies expected to participate. China's Ministry of Commerce and the Finnish side will sign a memorandum of understanding on strengthening the committee's work, and companies from both countries are set to conclude multiple commercial agreements.

The official noted that China and Finland enjoy strong complementarities and significant cooperation potential in green and innovation-driven development. Businesses from both countries are welcomed to seize new opportunities created by China's continued high-level opening up and further deepen cooperation in relevant fields.

The spokesperson added that enterprises are encouraged to capitalize on opportunities in green transition, information technology, and the digital economy amid China's unwavering commitment to high-level opening-up.
