Five SHL teams name new head coaches for next season

Five of the 14 teams in Sweden's top ice hockey league will start the upcoming season with new head coaches. The changes were outlined in a review of coaching staffs across the SHL.

The affected clubs include HV71, Linköping, Luleå, Timrå and Örebro. Niklas Eriksson takes over at HV71 after two straight qualification rounds, while Anders Karlsson returns to Linköping as a newly crowned Finnish champion with Tappara. Dennis Hall arrives at Luleå to replace Thomas Berglund, who departed for a role in Germany. Mikael Gath moves from his position as Denmark's national team coach to Timrå, and Martin Filander joins Örebro to bring fresh direction. The remaining nine teams retain their current head coaches. These include Magnus Bogren at Björklöven, Niklas Gällstedt at Brynäs and Cam Abbott at Färjestad, among others. Several clubs have also adjusted their assistant coaching positions.
