Apple has announced that the 2026 Formula 1 season kicks off with the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2026 on Apple TV, marking the service's role as the exclusive U.S. broadcaster. The event airs Saturday, March 7, at 8 p.m. PT, with comprehensive coverage including all sessions available live and on demand.

Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Services, stated, “This weekend marks the start of a new era for Formula 1 fans in the U.S. We’re excited to bring every moment of the season to Apple TV, delivering an immersive experience designed entirely around fans. Formula 1’s growth in America has been extraordinary, and we’re proud to build on that momentum — combining the power of Apple TV with the broader Apple ecosystem to create even more ways for fans to connect with the sport.”

Stefano Domenicali, Formula 1’s president and CEO, added, “As we begin this exciting chapter for our sport with new teams, cars, engines, and drivers, it is the perfect time to welcome Apple as our broadcaster in the United States. We have an important journey ahead of us, one we’ll share in a country where the passion for F1 continues to grow with extraordinary energy.”

Viewers will experience races in 4K with Dolby Vision and 5.1 surround sound for the first time, featuring English and Spanish commentary. Up to 30 additional live feeds are available, including Driver Tracker, real-time telemetry, mixed onboard cameras, and podium feeds for top three drivers during races and Sprints. A Multiview option allows watching up to four feeds simultaneously, with preconfigured team layouts or custom selections. Sky Sports broadcasts are also accessible.

Netflix’s Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 8, covering the 2025 season, streams on Apple TV for the first time, with the Canadian Grand Prix on May 22 also available on both platforms. Apple integrates F1 across its apps: Sports for real-time updates and leaderboards; Maps for circuit details and Melbourne guides; Music for live audio, driver playlists by Isack Hadjar, Esteban Ocon, and Oliver Bearman, and an interview with Max Verstappen; News for coverage from The Athletic, ESPN, and Motor Sport, plus upcoming Live Look In; and Podcasts for shows like F1 Nation and F1 Beyond The Grid.

Additional access comes via partnerships: free altcasts on Tubi, practice and qualifying on Yahoo Sports, a Univision simulcast, IMAX screenings for five Grands Prix, and integrations with DIRECTV, EverPass, Comcast Xfinity, Roku, and Prime Video. Apple TV costs $12.99 per month with a seven-day free trial.
