HBO has renewed its Harry Potter television adaptation for a second season ahead of the first season's December premiere. Production on Season 2 is scheduled to begin this fall, with Jon Brown joining as co-showrunner.
HBO has renewed the series for Season 2, which will follow the events of the second book in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels. The decision comes more than seven months before Season 1 debuts this Christmas on HBO and HBO Max, moving up from an earlier planned 2027 window. Season 1 is titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, while Season 2 has not yet received an official title.
