Former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola is listed as the party’s national secretary, with Dr. Mani Ahmad as national treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as national financial secretary, and Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor as national legal adviser. As of 11 pm on Thursday, INEC’s website showed these changes.
The update followed Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling, which vacated a status quo ante bellum order that had frozen the leadership question. The apex court directed that related proceedings return to the Federal High Court and held that the Court of Appeal acted outside its jurisdiction by issuing the order after dismissing the appeal.
Senator Aminu Tambuwal, former Sokoto State governor, hailed the judgment as a landmark affirmation of the rule of law. “This judgment is not only a victory for the ADC but also for Nigeria’s democracy and all citizens who believe in due process and constitutional governance,” he stated on his X account. He urged stakeholders to respect the ruling.
Dr. Chukwudi Dimkpa, Chairman-elect of ADC in Rivers State, said the party now focuses on winning the 2027 elections. “The ruling represents a significant restoration of legal clarity and due process,” he noted, outlining plans to strengthen grassroots structures and expand membership.
