La Guaira and Bolívar ended in a 1-1 draw on Thursday in the Copa Libertadores group stage. José Meza opened the scoring for the home team and Leonel Justiniano equalized for the visitors.
The match took place at the Estadio Olímpico de la UCV in Caracas. Meza scored in the 30th minute of the first half, while Justiniano found the net in the 49th minute of the second. The game ended without any red cards.
Statistics reflected a balanced contest. La Guaira held 48% possession and recorded 12 shots on target, compared to Bolívar’s 52% and 13 attempts. La Guaira committed 16 fouls to Bolívar’s nine.
La Guaira will face Independiente Rivadavia on May 21. Bolívar is scheduled to play Fluminense on May 19.
