NBC has renewed Law & Order: SVU for a 28th season, which will premiere in fall 2026 on Thursdays at 9/8c.
The long-running procedural returns with series regulars Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Kelli Giddish, Aimé Donna Kelly, Peter Scanavino, Kevin Kane and Corey Cott expected to reprise their roles. Showrunner Michele Fazekas plans to feature Ice-T more prominently than in season 27 and use strategic scheduling to pair characters like Curry and Griffin or Bruno and Rollins. Fin will serve as a key supporting figure for Benson. No new cast members have been announced yet. Fazekas also expressed interest in bringing back Chris Meloni's Elliot Stabler if the schedule and story align. The network renewed the series in April.
