A man and a woman have been taken to hospital after a serious violent crime in Ytterby in Kungälv municipality. A man has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder and child endangerment.
The alarm reached police at 21:26 on Sunday about an ongoing serious violent crime indoors in a residence. The injured individuals were attacked with some form of weapon and transported by ambulance to Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Göteborg.
Police arrested the suspect a short distance from the scene under calm conditions. He is suspected of two counts of attempted murder and child endangerment since a minor was present and affected by the incident.
– As far as we understand this is an isolated event involving people who are acquainted with each other, says Johan Ljung, duty officer at the police.
A large number of police cars, ambulances and an air ambulance took part in the response. Police state there is no danger to the public.
