National Police captured a man at the Neiva Transport Terminal during a background check. The detainee had an active court order for theft issued in 2025.
Officers from the Neiva Metropolitan Police carried out the arrest in the VIP lounge of the terminal located in the Zona Industrial neighborhood.
The man adopted a suspicious attitude upon noticing the police presence. After verifying his identity on a PDA device, authorities confirmed the arrest warrant issued on August 29, 2025, by a court in Florencia, Caquetá, for the crime of theft.
Colonel Héctor Jairo Betancourt Rojas, commander of the Neiva Metropolitan Police, stated: “The permanent work of our officers in control and background verification activities continues to yield important results in security and citizen coexistence”.
The detainee was handed over to the competent authority to proceed with the judicial process.
