Matt Sydal returns to AEW programming after foot surgery

Matt Sydal has returned to AEW television following a two-year absence for foot surgery. The news was shared during a backstage segment on the June 20 edition of AEW Collision.

Christopher Daniels revealed the update while speaking with Scorpio Sky, Darius Martin, and Dante Martin. Daniels confirmed that Sydal is back and that SkyFlight would support him.

Sydal last competed in AEW on the May 22, 2024, episode of Dynamite, where he faced Konosuke Takeshita. He then stepped away to undergo surgery on his right foot.

The announcement aired during the June 20 broadcast of AEW Collision on TNT and HBO Max.
