The Ministry of Education (MEC) announced the early release of the official Enem 2025 answer key for Wednesday (19), after annulling three questions from the second day of exams due to similarities with items shown by a student in a YouTube live. The Inep reaffirmed the exam's validity and called in the Federal Police to investigate. Educators report increased anxiety among candidates ahead of other entrance exams.
The Enem 2025, held on November 9 and 16, saw about 3.4 million attendees out of 4.8 million confirmed registrants, with a 27% no-show rate on the first Sunday. The essay topic was 'Perspectives on aging in Brazilian society.' On Tuesday (18), the MEC and Inep announced the early release of the answer key and question booklets for November 19 at 10 a.m. (Brasília time), originally set for Thursday (20).
The decision follows the annulment of three questions from the math and natural sciences exams, after a YouTube live by Edcley Teixeira, a medical student at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) in Sobral. Teixeira, who presents himself as an educational consultant, displayed at least five questions strongly resembling those used on November 16, days before the test. Folha confirmed that at least three were from pre-tests in the Prêmio Capes Talento Universitário, an MEC evaluation for university freshmen, used to calibrate difficulty via Item Response Theory (TRI).
Teixeira claims he memorized the items after participating in the award at the MEC's invitation and predicted the questions using legal criteria, without any leak. 'The entire Enem is repeated. I discovered the pattern. Do you know how many people create the Enem? Twenty-five people. They've been at Inep since 2009. Follow them on social media. You'll know what they're thinking,' he stated in videos. The report received no response from the student, but UFC confirmed his regular enrollment.
The Inep emphasized that 'no question was presented exactly as is' and that similarities were 'point-specific,' reaffirming the exam's 'equity, integrity, and validity.' The Federal Police were called to investigate possible confidentiality breach or bad faith. The institutions did not disclose which questions were annulled.
Prep courses report the incident heightens candidate anxiety. The director of Anglo Vestibulares told Folha it's a tense time but advises calm, trusting the Inep's investigation. Wander Azanha of Oficina do Estudante warned of the impact on TRI with 177 items instead of 180, creating score uncertainty: 'What if the annulled questions were very easy? That interferes with TRI and generates fear about the final score. Universities like Unifesp use raw scores; they'll have only 177 items to consider.' He advises focusing on exams like Famema and Fuvest.
Minister Camilo Santana stated attendance repeats previous patterns and consolidated data will be released in January 2026. The government is studying applying the Enem in capitals of Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay for Mercosur students.
