Michigan State track and field wins nine events at Simmons-Harvey Invitational

Xavier Griffiths sealed the win with a personal-best throw of 20.45 meters on his final attempt, ranking seventh on MSU's all-time list. Dalton DeBeau followed with his own PR of 19.50 meters for second place, while Colby Marlock and Dillon Morlock finished fourth and fifth.

On the women's side, Elle Adrian won the weight throw with a season-best 22.31 meters, just four centimeters short of her school record. In the men's shot put, Dillon Morlock edged his brother Colby with a throw of 18.31 meters for the victory. Brady Schultz cleared 2.15 meters to win the high jump.

The Spartans swept the men's long jump, led by Carter Bissell in first, with Andrew Harding and Dylan Terryberry in second and third. Leila Barmore secured the women's triple jump at 12.38 meters, following her previous long jump win.

In distance events, Taylor Pangburn ran a personal-best 4:46.95 to win the women's mile, with teammates Paige Marchant and Taylor Ewert in the top five. Rachel Forsyth placed third in the 800 meters, Sarah Forsyth fourth, and Olivia Millen set a PR in the 600 meters, where Sydnee Sinn took third with her own PR. Sophia Lucki won the women's 3,000 meters in 9:42.94, followed by Meghan Beute's personal best for second.

Cameron Cheetam blazed to victory in the men's 60-meter dash at 6.86 seconds, and Logan Allen finished second in the 60-meter hurdles. Michigan State returns to action January 30-31 at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational in South Bend.
