Mick Jagger praises Sam Fender album as excellent

Mick Jagger has expressed admiration for Sam Fender, calling his album People Watching excellent in a recent interview.

The Rolling Stones frontman spoke to NME about younger artists he has been listening to. He said he has had his Sam Fender moments lately because he likes a lot of his stuff.

Jagger described the album People Watching as stunning and excellent. He also noted that Fender's songs have good choruses and interesting lyrics reflective of his experience growing up.

Fender released People Watching in February 2025. The album won the 2025 Mercury Prize, and Fender donated his winnings to Music Venue Trust.

Jagger added that Fender might be really good as a guest at a future Rolling Stones show.
