Mozambique president hails Ethiopian AI institute as hope for Africa

Mozambique President Daniel Francisco Chapo, on a working visit to Ethiopia, described the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute as a bright hope not just for Ethiopia but for all of Africa. He commended Ethiopia's progress in human-centered AI research and development.

In Addis Ababa, Mozambique's President Daniel Francisco Chapo visited the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute and praised its skilled workforce in the technology sector.
He stated that this human resource, drawn from Ethiopia's past challenges, serves as a driver for future growth.

The president noted that the emergence of artificial intelligence technology represents a global shift requiring attention from all nations.
Trainees engaged in creative work at the institute will generate significant opportunities, he added.

He stressed that continental cooperation, joint efforts, and knowledge exchange form the foundation for Africa's rapid development.
The visit occurred on Miyaziya 20, 2018 (Ethiopian calendar).
