MPR RI Chair Ahmad Muzani has decided that the final round of the Empat Pilar MPR RI quiz competition for high schools in West Kalimantan will be held again with independent judges to maintain objectivity.
The decision follows protests over inconsistent scoring in the final. The team from SMAN 1 Pontianak protested after their answer was ruled wrong, while a similar answer from SMAN 1 Sambas was accepted as correct.
Ahmad Muzani said the repeat contest will be held soon with judges drawn from independent academics. MPR leadership will directly supervise the event from start to finish.
The controversy went viral on social media after video of the judging circulated. Judge Indri Wahyuni drew attention for her comments on answer articulation and alleged WhatsApp posts.
The move is intended to remove public doubt and ensure equal opportunity for all participants.
