Netflix sets 2026 release for romantic drama 'Possible Love'

Netflix has announced that the upcoming South Korean romantic drama film 'Possible Love' (working title) will premiere on the platform in 2026. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Lee Chang-dong, the movie stars Jeon Do Yeon, Sul Kyung Gu, Zo In Sung, and Cho Yeo Jung. Filming began in August 2025 and is likely now in post-production.

Lee Chang-dong, known for directing films like Poetry, Oasis, Peppermint Candy, and Green Fish, returns after an eight-year hiatus with 'Possible Love' (WT). This Netflix Original explores the lives of two married couples from contrasting backgrounds whose paths cross, leading to disruptions in their routines. An official logline from Netflix states: “This upcoming film follows the intertwined lives of two married couples leading completely opposite lives. As their worlds collide, fractures begin to appear in their daily existence.”

The cast brings together established South Korean talents. Jeon Do Yeon, who appeared in Netflix projects such as Crash Course in Romance and Kill Bok Soon, will next feature in films Mantis and Good News, as well as the series The Price of Confession. Sul Kyung Gu, seen in Yaksha: Ruthless Operations, Kill Bok Soon, and the series The Whirlwind, is also lined up for The Rat, Mantis, and Good News. Zo In Sung, familiar from dramas like Moving, It’s Okay That’s Love, and That Winter, the Wind Blows, and films including Smugglers and Escape from Mogadishu, makes his Netflix debut. Cho Yeo Jung, best recognized for her role in the Academy Award-winning Parasite, has a guest appearance in Behind Every Star and leads in series like Beautiful World and Cheat On Me If You Can, plus films such as The Hidden Face and Tarot.

Production started in August 2025, with filming ongoing for several months before likely entering post-production. Netflix revealed the 2026 release as part of its January 7 announcements for upcoming films and series, with a potential summer debut anticipated, though no exact date is confirmed yet.
