New padel centre Bounc opens in Chorley

A new European-inspired padel centre called Bounc has launched in Buckshaw Village, Chorley, offering indoor courts and community activities. The venue, led by co-founder Declan Bailey, aims to foster local sports culture with tournaments and classes. Its grand opening last Friday drew guests and partners to celebrate Chorley's latest sporting hub.

The padel centre Bounc, located at Unit K4, Ordnance Road, in Buckshaw Village, combines indoor padel facilities with a community hub that includes a café. Inspired by the padel scene in Spain’s Costa del Sol, the venue seeks to bring that vibrant energy to Chorley. Co-founder Declan Bailey, a local resident, emphasized the broader mission behind the project.

The official launch occurred last Friday, attended by invited guests, partners, and members of the local community. This event marked the debut of what Bailey described as Chorley’s newest sporting destination. Plans include hosting tournaments and exhibition matches featuring elite players from around the world, providing residents with access to high-level padel without leaving the area.

Beyond padel, Bounc will support various groups by offering spaces for running clubs, cycling sessions, Pilates classes, and mums-and-prams activities. The centre has partnered with Cube, an artisan café and desserts brand, to enhance the visitor experience. Court bookings are handled via the Playtomic platform, with hire starting at £24 per hour.

Bailey shared his vision in a statement: “We want Chorley to move together, creating a welcoming space where everyone from kids to elite athletes can train, play and connect. This isn’t just about sport; it’s about culture, community and building a healthier way of living together.” This initiative positions Bounc as a multifaceted space promoting physical activity and social bonds in the region.
