Nigeria to receive 270 returnees in fourth evacuation flight

The Federal Government has announced that the fourth evacuation flight is expected to bring 270 Nigerians from South Africa to Lagos early on Wednesday.

The Air Peace aircraft is scheduled to depart Johannesburg at midnight on Tuesday carrying the returnees. It is due to land at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos by 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

The announcement came in a statement issued on Tuesday by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This marks the fourth flight in the government's ongoing repatriation efforts prompted by safety concerns in South Africa.

Officials noted that the arrival time is subject to standard operational conditions.
