Persija coach Mauricio Souza praised his team's performance after the match. "I think today we really showed the potential this team has. We played a great game, we dominated completely," Souza told reporters.
Souza noted they could have scored more if calmer in the final third. "I think if we were a bit calmer in the final third, we could have scored more goals," he said. He also commended the players for their solid display against a strong opponent.
The result lifted Persija to third place with 55 points, six points behind leaders Persib Bandung.
