Poison the Well releases video for 'Everything Hurts' single

Metalcore band Poison the Well has unveiled the music video for their new single 'Everything Hurts' from the upcoming album 'Peace In Place'. This marks their first full-length release since 2009. The album is set for March 20 via SharpTone Records.

Poison the Well, Florida-based metalcore veterans, announced their return with the album 'Peace In Place', their first since 2009's 'The Tropic Rot'. The record arrives on March 20 through SharpTone Records and features 10 tracks: Wax Mask, Primal Bloom, Thoroughbreds, Everything Hurts, Weeping Tones, A Wake Of Vultures, Bad Bodies, Drifting Without End, Melted, and Plague Them The Most.

The second single, 'Everything Hurts', comes with an official music video directed by Chris Candy. Vocalist Jeffrey Moreira described the band's reunion: "Joining POISON THE WELL at 18 and chasing music shaped how I approach life. Coming back 16 years later — unsure if I could still do what I once left behind — only reinforced how strong our bond is and how much this band has given me. I'm grateful to do this again with my friends, and to share a record made with honesty, intention and connection at its core."

On 'Everything Hurts', Moreira explained it explores the strain and patience required to maintain relationships, noting how even close bonds can test individuals over time. The track balances melody and heaviness, with dynamic shifts and lyrics emphasizing vulnerability. Earlier single 'Thoroughbreds' addresses lifelong bonds that fail after seeming enduring, as Moreira stated: "Beasts of burden are hard to break — not because they're strong, but because they're stubborn. 'Thoroughbreds' is about realizing that some lifelong bonds don't fail early; they fail after you believed they were there to stay."

Regarding the album, Moreira said: "'Peace In Place' is probably the most pissed record we've ever made. After stepping away from POISON THE WELL, it felt like all the emotion from that time — frustration, heartache, disappointment — compressed into something heavy and unavoidable. But anger isn't what drives us. Connection is."

The band, comprising Jeffrey Moreira on vocals, Ryan Primack and Vadim Taver on guitars, Christopher Hornbrook on drums, and Noah Harmon on bass, recently welcomed Harmon and Taver officially after years of collaboration. A year ago, they released 'Trembling Level', their first new song in 15 years.

Poison the Well has also scheduled a spring 2026 headline tour, with Converge as support and Balmora, Spy, The Armed, and The Barbarians Of California on select dates. Their influence persists, with past albums like 1999's 'The Opposite Of December… A Season Of Separation' and 2003's 'You Come Before You' earning spots on various best-of lists, and their catalog surpassing 100 million streams.
