Predators host Avalanche for Hockey Fights Cancer night

The Nashville Predators return home to face the Colorado Avalanche on November 22, 2025, at Bridgestone Arena in a 7 p.m. CT matchup designated as Hockey Fights Cancer night. After splitting games in the NHL Global Series in Stockholm, Nashville aims to reset against the league-leading Avalanche. Captain Roman Josi is set to return after missing 12 games due to a lower-body injury.

The Predators are coming off a 2-1 overtime win and a 4-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins during the NHL Global Series in Sweden. Head coach Andrew Brunette emphasized the need for a reset following the international travel. "I think [the goal is to] reset a little bit," Brunette said after practice. "Obviously, we went through a little bit of the ringer there…and then the games overseas, travel there and travel back, so I think we just wanted to make sure we rest up and kind of reset our mindset a little bit here going forward."

Nashville's lineup will be bolstered by the return of captain Roman Josi, who practiced Wednesday and Thursday and is expected to play after sitting out 12 games with a lower-body injury. The team held practices earlier in the week and plans a morning skate on game day.

Filip Forsberg leads the Predators with eight goals and 15 points, followed by Ryan O’Reilly with six goals and 13 points. Rookie Matthew Wood also has six goals, while Michael Bunting, Erik Haula and Luke Evangelista each tally 10 points. In net, Juuse Saros is 6-6-3, and Justus Annunen stands at 0-4-1.

The Avalanche enter atop the NHL standings, powered by Nathan MacKinnon’s league-leading 36 points, including 16 goals. Cale Makar tops all defensemen with eight goals, 20 assists and 28 points, matched by Martin Necas’s 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists). Goaltender Scott Wedgewood is 12-1-2, with Mackenzie Blackwood at 2-0-1.

Historically, Nashville holds a 51-38-5-1 edge over Colorado, including 28-16-3-2 at home. The Preds are 4-1-0 in their last five home games against the Avalanche.

Special initiatives for Hockey Fights Cancer night include a custom mask for Juuse Saros honoring four Preds family members. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. CT on FanDuel Sports Network South and 102.5 The Game.
