Prime Video's 'Barbershop' series casts eight guest stars

Amazon Prime Video's upcoming comedy series 'Barbershop' has added eight actors in guest-starring roles, including 'Saturday Night Live' alumni Ego Nwodim and Devon Walker. The cast joins series lead Jermaine Fowler in a story set at the iconic Calvin’s barbershop in Chicago. The announcement highlights the show's ensemble approach to depicting community life through humor.

On January 22, 2026, Deadline and Variety reported that Prime Video's 'Barbershop' TV series, adapted from the MGM movies, has expanded its cast with eight guest stars. The new additions include Zack Fox as Alderman Warren, Ego Nwodim as Shelly-Ann, Diallo Riddle as Pastor Devante, Ziwe as Abbi, Tituss Burgess as Juan Grillz, Comedian CP as Marvin, Devon Walker as Southside Swole, and Belmont Cameli as Shep.

The series centers on Travis “Trav” Porter, played by Jermaine Fowler, who aims to emulate his grandfather, a legendary barber at Calvin’s barbershop in Chicago. As per the official logline, “while the barbers are new, the shop remains just as lively, the customers just as argumentative, and the fades are still the dopest in the city — because at Calvin’s, the community comes together for way more than just a haircut.”

Joining Fowler as series regulars are Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr., and E.J. Bonilla. Recurring roles feature Bokeem Woodbine, Bresha Webb, Langston Kerman, and Tiana Okoye.

Marshall Todd, co-writer of the original 'Barbershop' film, is writing and executive producing the series, alongside co-showrunner Max Searle. Executive producers also include Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, and Mike Stein via Hartbeat; Bradley Gardner; Cameron Burnett and Autumn Bailey-Ford for Prominent Productions; and George Tillman Jr. and Robert Teitel for State Street Pictures. Tiffany Brown co-executive produces for Hartbeat. The production is handled by Amazon MGM Studios.

This casting bolsters the show's comedic ensemble, drawing talent from shows like 'Saturday Night Live,' 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,' and 'Abbott Elementary,' promising a vibrant portrayal of Chicago's community dynamics.
