Pure Padel announces new clubs in London, Liverpool and Wiltshire

Pure Padel, a growing UK padel operator, has revealed plans for three new venues as part of its expansion. These include its first site in London at Coulsdon, a facility in Liverpool, and a club at Royal Wootton Bassett. The announcements highlight the company's push to meet demand for indoor padel courts across the region.

Pure Padel continues its rapid expansion in the UK with announcements for three new projects, marking its entry into London and further growth in northern and southern England.

The London debut comes in Coulsdon, within the London Borough of Croydon. The company has submitted plans to convert a warehouse into a premium indoor club featuring six courts, a café with a licensed bar, pro shop, social areas, changing rooms, and a co-working lounge. Situated just a 10-minute walk from Coulsdon South station, it offers quick access to central London, with journeys from Victoria taking under 40 minutes. This location aims to serve local players while addressing the shortage of high-quality indoor facilities in South London and Surrey. A planning decision is anticipated in mid-February.

Sammy Arora, founder and managing director of Pure Padel, expressed enthusiasm: “We’re incredibly excited about bringing Pure Padel to Coulsdon. This will be our first club in the London region and a really important step in building our presence across the South East, especially alongside our Lightwater club in Surrey. The accessibility of this site is exceptional, and there’s a clear shortage of high-quality indoor padel facilities in the area.”

In Liverpool, Pure Padel plans a six-court setup under a 9.5-meter canopy at Liverpool Innovation Park on Edge Lane, a key route from the M62. The site will include a clubhouse with food and beverage options, pro shop, and social spaces, though no opening date has been set.

The third project is at Royal Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire, hosted by the Royal Wootton Bassett Sports Association, a multi-sport hub offering football, tennis, cricket, running, and pétanque. Planning permission is secured for six covered courts and a clubhouse with pro shop, dining, and social facilities. Construction starts in April, with an opening targeted for mid-summer. Its proximity to Swindon and the M4 makes it accessible to players from Wiltshire and surrounding areas.

Pure Padel's pay-to-play model, bookable via the Playtomic app without membership fees, promotes flexible participation. Since launching its first club at Alderley Park in October 2023, it has opened sites in Manchester, Darlington, Stockport, North Leeds, and Nottingham. Ongoing construction includes Lightwater, Solihull, and Glasgow, with approvals advancing for Birmingham, Gosforth, and York.

The venue will offer a range of amenities including coaching, a cafe, and a spa, aligning with the area's ongoing redevelopment.

A fresh indoor padel venue has launched in a business park close to Andover, featuring three courts along with amenities for players and spectators. Velocity Leisure, the current owner, hopes this proposal will succeed where previous ideas for hotels and trampoline parks have failed. The development aims to tap into the rising popularity of the racket sport.

Plans for a £4m purpose-built padel centre called Swing have been unveiled in Nottingham, featuring 11 courts and additional wellness and social facilities.
