Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed 97 off 29 balls, including 12 sixes, to help Rajasthan Royals post 243 for eight at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in New Chandigarh. His knock broke Chris Gayle's record for the most sixes in a single IPL season, taking his tally to 65.
Jofra Archer claimed three early wickets to reduce Sunrisers Hyderabad to 57 for four. SRH were eventually bowled out for 196.
Sooryavanshi fell three runs short of a century but stressed that the team's push for the title mattered more than personal milestones. Royals will now face Gujarat Titans in Friday's Qualifier 2.
