Ramadan month to be observed with charity and reflection

Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa, president of Ethiopia's Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, stated that the holy month of Ramadan will be spent in charity and reflection. He extended greetings for the 1447th Ramadan, wishing peace to the Muslim community.

On Katin 9, 2018 EC (Fana Media), Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa issued a message regarding the month of Ramadan. He described Ramadan as one of Islam's five pillars, a month ordained by Allah for all Muslims to fast.

The month serves as a time of unity and reflection, emphasizing forgiveness, good deeds, and social service, encouraging followers to return to their faith practices. He advised passing the month by aiding the needy, sharing meals, reflecting, and remembering Allah.

As a month of peace, Ramadan calls for avoiding conflicts and gossip while maintaining spiritual elevation. This practice contributes to prayers for the country's peace and the people's security, he added.

The start of Ramadan fasting depends on the sighting of the crescent: on Sha'ban 29, Tuesday, or if not seen on the previous Monday, then Thursday, Katin 12, 2018 EC.
