Road infrastructure expansion aids tourist sites potential, says Prime Minister

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said expanding road infrastructure helps fully utilize the potential of tourist destinations such as Dorze Lodge.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated in a social media post that he visited the Chano-Chencha road project and Dorze Lodge tourism site. The 29-kilometre project, which includes a 22-kilometre Chano-Chencha road and a 7-kilometre Ezo-Gircha branch road, has completed 13.3 kilometres so far.

Upon completion the road will strengthen community connections, facilitate trade and travel, and accelerate local economic development, he said. The Dorze Lodge site, renewed since 1997 in the Ethiopian calendar, covers 40,000 square metres on a cool mountainous ridge.

The location offers views of Lakes Abaya and Chamo as well as the natural feature known as “God’s Bridge.” The Prime Minister invited Ethiopians, members of the diaspora and international visitors to experience the area’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
