Ryne Buttz, a senior at the University of Indianapolis, was voted the 2025 GLVC Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year. During the season, he started all 13 games for the Greyhounds, who finished with an 11-2 overall record and an undefeated 8-0 mark in GLVC play. The team secured its fourth straight GLVC Championship and fifth 10-win regular season.

Buttz played a key role in protecting quarterback Gavin Sukup, the Harlon Hill Trophy runner-up. The Greyhounds' offensive unit ranked first in NCAA Division II in passing efficiency and completion percentage, second in total offense and scoring offense, and top 10 in red zone offense.

On the awards front, Buttz earned First Team All-GLVC honors and First Team All-American recognition from the AFCA, College Football Network, and D2Football.com Elite 100. He was also named to the D2CCA All-America Second Team.

Academically, Buttz was selected as a 2025 Academic All-American and is on track for his fourth straight Academic All-GLVC nod. He posted a 3.876 semester GPA and a 3.781 cumulative GPA while majoring in Exercise Science.

In cross country, Buttz placed second in the 8K at the GLVC Championship with a time of 23:51.13, helping the Panthers finish fifth as a team. He finished eighth at the 10K NCAA Midwest Regional in 30:39.2, earning All-Region honors. The team received an at-large bid to the NCAA National Championship, and Buttz was named GLVC Runner of the Week on October 7.
