Sudharsan also set a record for the fastest 2000 IPL runs during his innings.
Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan played an explosive innings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday. He scored 100 off 58 balls with 11 fours and 5 sixes, including a 128-run opening stand with Shubman Gill, who made 32. During this knock, Sudharsan reached 2000 IPL runs in just 47 innings, the fastest ever, surpassing Chris Gayle’s 48.
Josh Hazlewood dismissed Sudharsan immediately after his century, catching him off a short ball pull shot. Gujarat posted a strong 205/3 in 20 overs.
