Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong Stock Assets Rise by 28 Trillion Won in Q2

The value of shares held by Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong rose by 28 trillion won in the second quarter as South Korean stocks reached record highs.

Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong's stock holdings reached 59.18 trillion won as of the end of June, up from 30.94 trillion won at the end of March.

The increase was the largest absolute gain among leaders of major Korean business groups, according to data from market tracker Korea CXO Institute. The survey covered 46 group heads whose holdings exceeded 100 billion won.

SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won recorded the highest growth rate at 176.9 percent, with his holdings rising to 10.83 trillion won. LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-eun and Hyundai Department Store Group Chairman Chung Ji-sun saw increases of 34.1 percent and 27.6 percent.
