Iquique's Oral Criminal Court issued a unanimous ruling against Ricardo Valles Córdova, sports coordinator at the Elena Duvauchelle school in the city. On the morning of August 27, 2025, the defendant performed sexual touching on a 16-year-old girl in his office, taking advantage of the victim's inability to resist.
After the assault, the minor voiced her disagreement to the coordinator, who asked her not to tell anyone as she left. The court established these facts based on the police investigation and testimonies.
The sentence is three years and one day of effective imprisonment. Valles Córdova is also absolutely and perpetually disqualified from holding positions or professions in educational settings or those involving regular contact with minors.
Once the ruling is finalized, biological samples will be taken from the convict for inclusion in the national DNA registry of convicted individuals.
