Senapred's regional directorate declared an early preventive alert for the O’Higgins and Maule regions due to a frontal system bringing rainfall from April 19 to 20, following notices from Chile's Meteorological Directorate (DMC).
In O’Higgins, the alert is in effect until April 20, with estimated accumulations of 25-35 mm in the valley (San Fernando), 30-40 mm in the foothills, and 40-50 mm in the mountains. Winds of 25-40 km/h are expected in coastal and cordilleran areas. On Sunday, rainfall will decrease to 2-5 mm in the valley and 5-10 mm in foothills and mountains.
In Maule, the alert also lasts until April 20, mainly affecting the northern stretch, with 15-20 mm in the longitudinal valley (Curicó and Molina), 30-40 mm in foothills, and 40-50 mm in mountains. On Monday, lighter rain continues: 2-5 mm in foothills and 3-8 mm in mountains, with 25-40 km/h winds. Senapred notes a risk of mass removals in this region.
