Kelly referenced Trump's weekend statement threatening more strikes on Iran's Kharg Island, where U.S. attacks had 'totally demolished' much of the island, adding, 'We may hit it a few more times just for fun.' He also pointed to Hegseth's 'no quarter' comment from a Friday press briefing with Gen. Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, saying, 'The “no quarter” comment by the SecDef and this “just for fun” remark by the President tells me there was never a clear strategy for this war. And at this point, three weeks in, they are just making up objectives as they stumble along all while our troops are put at risk and…' Kelly also mentioned rising gas prices linked to the conflict. Hegseth described the objectives as 'clear, decisive, and achievable,' stating the mission is to 'defeat the missiles, missile launchers, and defense industrial base … defeat the Navy, and deny Iran the ability to have a nuclear weapon.'
