Regarding Mickey's reaction to Travis's injury—especially after he professed his love without reciprocation—Lopez noted, "They start the episode going to bed together... there's such a bedrock of affection and admiration. You never fall fully out of love." He added that the trauma would bring emotional clarity, with Mickey making a decision about their future in the next episode: "She will let him know."
