Song Mino testifies in manager's military service trial

WINNER member Song Mino appeared as a witness yesterday at the Seoul Western District Court in the third session of a trial involving his social service duty manager.

Song Mino, dressed in a black suit, apologized briefly to reporters before entering the courtroom on the afternoon of July 14. The proceedings focus on whether the manager, identified as Mr. A, allowed unauthorized absences or falsified attendance records during Song Mino's alternative military service.

The prosecution claims Mr. A knowingly permitted the absences while recording normal attendance. The defense acknowledges some irregularities but denies any prior conspiracy. Song Mino was called to testify about possible collusion between the two.

Song Mino faces separate charges of unauthorized absence for 102 days out of roughly 430 working days from March 2023 to December 2024 at Mapo facilities. He admitted the charges at an April hearing, where prosecutors sought a sentence of one year and six months in prison.
