Sweden played out a 2–2 draw against Greece in a World Cup warm-up at Strawberry Arena. A late Greek goal denied what could have been a win.
The match ended 2–2 after Greece equalised in added time through Giorgos Masouras. Sweden had taken a 2–1 lead through Gustaf Nilsson, who received the pass from substitute Taha Ali. Viktor Gyökeres levelled the score at 1–1 with a free-kick in the second half. Earlier, Kostas Tsimikas had made it 0–1 for Greece. Captain Victor Nilsson Lindelöf missed the game due to a minor issue, but head coach Graham Potter stressed it was a precautionary measure and that the World Cup is not in danger. Sweden’s World Cup opener is on 15 June against Tunisia in Monterrey.
