Amazon Prime Video's The Boys has announced its fifth and final season will premiere on April 8, 2026, with the first two episodes. New episodes will drop weekly until the finale on May 20. The reveal came at CCXP Brazil, alongside a teaser trailer featuring a reunion between Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.

Release Details

The fifth and final season of Amazon Prime Video’s satirical superhero series The Boys will launch with its first two episodes on April 8, 2026. Subsequent episodes will release weekly, culminating in the series finale on May 20, 2026. The announcement was made during a panel at CCXP Brazil on December 7, 2025, where series creator Eric Kripke and cast members unveiled the first teaser trailer.

The trailer offers a glimpse into the season's high-stakes plot, described as: “In the fifth and final season, it’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a ‘Freedom Camp.’ Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen.”

Trailer Highlights and Cast

The teaser showcases an on-screen reunion between Supernatural alumni Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. Ackles reprises his role as Soldier Boy, while Padalecki’s character remains under wraps. The clip depicts Padalecki’s unnamed figure entering a room, followed by Soldier Boy and Homelander (Antony Starr), hinting at a storyline tying back to their shared history as brothers Dean and Sam Winchester on Kripke’s Supernatural.

Additional trailer moments include Butcher (Karl Urban) reuniting with Hughie (Jack Quaid), Annie (Erin Moriarty), and the rest of The Boys after abandoning them at the end of Season 4. The group appears poised to fight against an impending apocalypse.

The ensemble cast features Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, plus Padalecki and Ackles.
