The Hindu Deep Tech Summit 2026 drew to a close after two days of insightful discussions on emerging trends in the deep tech space. The event, organized in collaboration with SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), gathered industry leaders, innovators, and academics to explore cutting-edge technologies.
Ananth Kumar, Associate Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (DEI) at SRMIST, thanked The Hindu for curating the summit. He noted that private universities, beyond institutions like IIT-Madras Research Park, are contributing to deep tech development. Kumar highlighted boardroom pitches by startups at pre-revenue, revenue, and scaling stages seeking capital.
A panel of investors thoroughly analyzed each pitch. “We had a panel of investors who thoroughly analysed each of the pitches. And five out of ten startups have got expression of interest,” Kumar added. The summit underscored growing momentum in deep tech innovation.
