Prabhas's horror-comedy The Raja Saab recorded a sharp decline in earnings on its fourth day, dropping more than 65% from Sunday. The film has crossed Rs 180 crore worldwide despite facing mixed reviews.
The Raja Saab, Prabhas-starring horror-comedy, saw a heavy dip in India nett collections on its fourth day (January 12, Monday) after release on January 9. According to industry trackers, the film earned around Rs 6.3 to 6.6 crore on Monday, marking a 65-71% drop from Sunday's Rs 19.1 crore. It opened at Rs 53.75 crore on Friday following Rs 9.15 crore from Thursday paid premieres, collected Rs 26 crore on Saturday, and Rs 19.1 crore on Sunday. By 9 am Tuesday, domestic total stood at Rs 114.66 crore, with just Rs 6 lakh added post-Monday.
Negative reviews have slowed the film's momentum. Director Maruthi's movie underwent recent re-editing, adding new footage featuring Prabhas in an older look. A fan praised the version on social media: "Bro, what the hell was that...!! Today I watched Raja Saab for the 5th time and this version is absolutely mind-blowing. Maruthi garu, why didn't you release this cut on the first day itself? This would've got unanimous HIT talk from Day 1. Perfect edit, no lag and superbly done." The fan urged others to rewatch in theaters.
The film has surpassed Rs 180 crore worldwide, but Tuesday's performance remains to be seen. Mixed occupancy rates persist across regions and languages.
