Thom Browne celebrates Asics collaboration at SoHo gallery

Designer Thom Browne hosted an intimate event at the Pierre Augustin Rose Gallery in SoHo to mark his new Sportstyle collaboration with Asics and the accompanying photo journal The Working Hour. The gathering ahead of Easter weekend drew artists, tastemakers, sports enthusiasts, and sneaker fans for a panel discussion and Champagne reception. Guests enjoyed runway looks and a screening of a short film.

Thom Browne gathered brand loyalists including Patrick Ball of The Pitt, Amy Fine Collins, Joe Holder, Indira Scott, Ella Emhoff, and Jessica Joffe at the Pierre Augustin Rose Gallery in SoHo. Many attendees wore full Thom Browne runway outfits while sipping Krug Champagne or Evian water. Actor Diego Rodriguez, known for his Olivier Award-nominated role in Evita, remarked, “Who needs hors d’oeuvres when you can visually feast on these ensembles.” He added, “I love being able to enjoy the world of fashion in between travels and performances—and Thom is the absolute best at what he does.” A panel moderated by writer and filmmaker Durga Chew-Bose featured Browne, photojournalist Robbie Lawrence, and artist Aaron Stern. Browne, a lifelong runner, said of the rare partnership, “This collaboration really resonated with me. It embodies the interpretation of what I do and all that I have done over the last 25 years of designing.” Lawrence noted, “The whole idea—along with Aaron’s reinterpretation—I think, has been an interesting process of allowing people to trust each other with their work.” Stern responded, “I hate when people ask ‘What’s the inspiration?’ Because oftentimes, the work speaks for itself.” The evening concluded with a projector screening a short film of The Working Hour, showing Browne running through New York alongside models in the new sneakers. Brand ambassador Jaylon Dawson called it a “unique and top-tier night,” adding, “I can’t wait to wear these new sneakers and take them for a spin around the city.”
