Tom Holland discussed his preparations for a Fred Astaire biopic during a recent television appearance. The actor described initial rehearsals as both exciting and daunting. He plans to perform all dance sequences himself without doubles.
Tom Holland revealed plans to return to dance training soon for the Sony biopic. He spoke on Good Morning America about the challenges ahead after finishing promotional tours for The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
"We have Fred Astaire next, is what we’re planning on doing," Holland said. "I did my first few rehearsals recently, and it both filled me with excitement and absolute dread because I’ve got so much work to do to try and do Fred proud."
The project, directed by Paul King and written by Steven Levenson, has been in development since Holland's casting was announced in 2021. Holland emphasized his goal of filming dances in single shots to honor Astaire's style.
