Hulu has announced that Travis Barker's documentary 'Louder Than Fear,' focusing on his survival of a 2008 plane crash and his life as Blink-182 drummer, will premiere this summer. Barker shared his excitement at Hulu's Get Real House event, describing it as an unfiltered look at his journey. The film highlights his recovery and the people who supported him.
Travis Barker, the Blink-182 drummer, survived a devastating private plane crash in South Carolina on September 19, 2008, that killed four people: his security guard, assistant, and the plane's two pilots. His friend Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein also survived but died a year later from a prescription drug overdose. Barker endured multiple surgeries and skin grafts for his burns, later addressing his own drug use and a fear of flying that he overcame only in 2023. Billboard reports the streaming service's Wednesday announcement of the documentary's summer debut on Hulu. Barker stated at the event, “It’s an unfiltered look at my journey after a life-changing experience and also spotlights the amazing people I have in my life who carried me through it. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to document it and be able to share it with all of you.” He added, “This documentary started over 10 years ago and it’s been a wild, wild ride and I can’t wait to share it with the world.” Hulu describes the film as following Barker on a “raw and redemptive journey” after the crash, revealing a man grappling with pain, grief, and survival beneath fame's spectacle. Rob Mills, Walt Disney Television’s EVP of unscripted and alternative entertainment, told The Wrap that Barker personally pitched the project, saying, “I want to tell this story … I was in this plane crash that I walked away from, and it fundamentally changed me.”
