Tropical Storm Boris weakened to a tropical depression on the morning of June 9 after making landfall in Guerrero. The National Meteorological Service reported maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour. Alfredo Lacunza de la Cruz, director of the Promotora y Administradora de Playas Acapulco, said 28 tons of solid waste were collected on the beaches. The cleanup took place on Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9. The Secretaría de Gestión Integral de Riesgos y Protección Civil Guerrero reported minor material damage in eight municipalities. This included fallen trees and a landslide on the Chilpancingo-Acapulco Highway, which has been cleared. Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda and Laura Velázquez Alzúa set up an interinstitutional command post to coordinate the response. Salgado urged the public to follow official information.
