The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Ethiopia has launched a competitive bidding process to sell used vehicles on an 'as-is-where-is' basis. Interested parties are invited to submit bids following specific guidelines outlined in the procurement notice.

Bid documents are available on the Procurement Notices portal by searching for 'Bid for Sale of Used Vehicles-ETH4983'. Prospective bidders can inspect the vehicles from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the UNECA compound on October 28, 30, and November 3, 5, 7, 11, and 13, 2025. To arrange an inspection, bidders must email their full name and phone number to dawit.girma@undp.org and asheber.dubale@undp.org at least two days in advance. A valid ID or passport is required for entry to the ECA compound on the inspection date.

Bidders may submit offers for multiple vehicles. All documents must use the official Bid Submission form from the procurement site and be printed using a LaserJet printer; handwritten bids are not accepted. A bid security of ETB 50,000 per vehicle is required via separate CPOs from any bank, addressed to UNDP Representative – Account No. 1000003015959, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia. The name on the CPO must match the bid document.

The submission deadline has been extended to November 14, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Bids must be emailed exclusively to procurement.et@undp.org, including the signed submission form and a scanned copy of the CPO. The original CPO must be delivered to the UNDP registry office at Congo Building, 6th floor, with a gate pass requested via email to the contacts above during working hours before the deadline.

Bid opening will be conducted internally by a committee, with no public session; results will be communicated via the bidder's provided email. Winning bidders will be notified by email and phone, and must deposit the full amount within 7 working days to the specified account. Failure to pay results in the award passing to the next highest bidder, with the original CPO forfeited. Winners must collect vehicles within 5 working days of payment, or incur a ETB 2,000 daily holding fee for up to 30 days. Unsuccessful bidders' CPOs will be returned after notification, though second- and third-highest bids are held until the process concludes. Unclaimed securities after six months are not UNDP's responsibility. Winners are liable for any applicable government duties or taxes before receiving vehicles.

UNDP reserves the right to cancel the bid or reject any or all offers at any time. The UNDP Ethiopia Country Office is located at UNECA Compound, Congo Building, 6th floor, P.O. Box 5580, Tel: +251115444408, Fax: +251115514599.
