Valle del Cauca government surpasses 1,000 km in territorial outreach

The Valle del Cauca government conducted a new simultaneous territorial outreach in Buga, Ginebra, El Cerrito, El Dovio, and Toro, surpassing 1,000 kilometers traveled to monitor programs and commitments with the community. Governor Dilian Francisca Toro led the event in Buga, emphasizing the value of institutional presence in the territory.

On February 19, 2026, the Valle del Cauca government executed a territorial outreach across multiple locations, accumulating over 1,000 kilometers traveled. This simultaneous initiative targeted Buga, Ginebra, El Cerrito, El Dovio, and Toro to assess progress on programs, projects, and commitments to residents.

In Ginebra, government teams followed up with beneficiaries of the Paneleros and Food Security programs in the Los Cocuyos hamlet. In Toro, they socialized road signage and markings in the main park. In El Dovio, they checked the progress of the wastewater pumping station. In El Cerrito, technical assistance was provided for risk scenarios in the El Pomo hamlet.

Governor Dilian Francisca Toro, who led the event in Buga, stated: “Each kilometer we traveled was an opportunity to listen better and fulfill with actions. Governing means being in the territory and responding to the people. We are working, fulfilling, and transforming”.

During the Buga visit, the Computing Room was inaugurated at La Magdalena Educational Institution in the La Habana hamlet, fulfilling a commitment to children and teachers. Toro also discussed the Derrumbado footprint plate project in El Vergel Park, engaged with Valle INN+ program beneficiaries and housing improvement recipients, laid the first stone for the Northern Sports Center, and reviewed progress on the BMX track.

The Governor's General Secretary, Liza Rodríguez, highlighted: “The day was measured in kilometers traveled, and mainly in concrete results for the communities. Each department arrived with clear tasks, defined schedules, and ongoing monitoring”.

This effort reinforces the departmental government's strategy of continuous territorial presence as a cornerstone of public management and social transformation.
