Victoria Monét and Sony celebrate rebuilt school music program

Victoria Monét partnered with Sony Music Group for a special event at Eliot Arts Magnet School, marking the restoration of its music education program destroyed in the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. The initiative restored instruments and equipment for over 1,000 students across two schools. Monét highlighted the resilience of the students during the celebration.

On Wednesday, Victoria Monét teamed up with Sony Music Group to host an event at Eliot Arts Magnet School in Los Angeles. The gathering celebrated the rebuilding of the school's music education program, which had been devastated by the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. Sony replaced all instruments and equipment, restoring access for more than 1,000 students at Eliot Arts Magnet and Altadena Arts Magnet schools.

Several Sony companies provided additional support, including Sony Electronics speakers for classrooms, headphones for students, and other resources for the campus community. Monét joined students and staff to recognize the rebuilt programs and emphasize the resilience demonstrated by the students over the past year. She also took part in a question-and-answer session with students.

“I’m honored to celebrate these students and everything they’ve overcome this year,” Monét said in a statement. “Music has the power to rebuild, to uplift, and to create new possibilities—and seeing that come to life here at Eliot Arts Magnet is truly inspiring. I encourage more people to be vocal and support their local communities.”

The effort aligns with Sony Music Group’s Beyond the Instrument initiative, which marked its fifth anniversary recently. The program focuses on supporting music education, creativity, and career development for aspiring musicians.
