Guitarist Warren Haynes is set to release a remixed and remastered version of his 1993 debut solo album Tales of Ordinary Madness on January 30, 2026, via Megaforce Records. The updated edition features 12 tracks plus one bonus song, with the first single 'Fire In the Kitchen' now available. This reissue coincides with Haynes' busy schedule, including a rare solo tour in February.

The new edition of Tales of Ordinary Madness includes a remix by Jim Scott at Plyrz Studios and remastering by Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone at Sterling Sound. Produced originally by Chuck Leavell and co-produced by Haynes, the album blends rock, blues, and soul. Originally launched in March 1993, it marked Haynes' first solo effort outside his Allman Brothers Band commitments. Critics at the time, including Rolling Stone, called it 'a powerful solo debut' for its songwriting and mix of ballads and rockers, while AllMusic praised its vocal focus as a shift from his band work.
Tour and Recent Projects
To promote the reissue, Haynes plans an intimate solo tour from February 12 to 26, 2026, with two-set shows drawing from his Gov't Mule, solo, and Allman Brothers catalogs. Highlights include double nights at Blue Note Los Angeles on February 17 and 18. The tour follows his Warren Haynes Band dates in late February and early March.
Haynes has been active lately, releasing The Whisper Sessions in 2025 as a companion to his 2024 album Million Voices Whisper on Fantasy Records, both featuring Derek Trucks. He headlines the 33rd Christmas Jam on December 13, 2025, in Asheville, North Carolina, benefiting local charities. Gov't Mule's New Year's Run starts December 28 in Schenectady, New York, with shows at Beacon Theatre on December 30 and 31, celebrating 1971 music.
