The number of confirmed mpox cases in Brazil has risen to 140 since the start of 2026, according to Ministry of Health data updated on March 9. No deaths from the disease were recorded in the period, though there are 539 suspected cases and 9 probable ones. São Paulo leads with 93 cases.

Around a third of mpox vaccines donated by Japan to the Democratic Republic of Congo are being wasted due to storage issues after preparation for use.
