Video game publisher 2K has announced new details for WWE 2K26, including a massive roster, new match types, and a revamped DLC system called Ringside Pass. The game features CM Punk as the cover athlete for the Standard Edition and is set for release on March 13, 2026, with early access for premium editions starting March 6. Updates to popular modes like Universe and MyRISE aim to enhance replayability and customization.
On January 30, 2026, 2K unveiled extensive information about WWE 2K26, the latest installment in the wrestling simulation series. The game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, with the Standard Edition priced at ₹3,999 on Steam.
WWE 2K26 boasts the largest roster in franchise history, exceeding 400 playable characters. This includes current stars like John Cena, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, and Seth Rollins, alongside legends such as Andre the Giant, Randy Savage, and Eddie Guerrero. New additions and returns feature Rey Fénix, Rusev, and Blake Monroe.
Four new match types join the lineup: Inferno, where flames surround the ring; Three Stages of Hell; I Quit; and Dumpster match. Gameplay enhancements include slamming opponents through stacked tables, using weapons like shopping carts and thumbtacks, and revamped reversals and stamina systems for added strategy. Improved physics for crown and barricade interactions, plus interactive entrances, elevate the experience. Booker T and Wade Barrett join the commentary team.
The DLC model shifts to Ringside Pass, a battle-pass-style system replacing traditional season passes. It offers 60 free tiers and 40 premium tiers, with content unlockable via XP across modes (excluding online lobbies). Six seasons are planned, starting with Season 1 at launch, providing superstars, cosmetics, and more.
Mode updates include a Draft and Universe Creation Wizard in Universe Mode, expanded match support in MyGM (including intergender and eight-man matches), decision-based storylines in MyRISE with post-campaign play, and The Island mode now on PC with new factions, quests, voiceovers, and environments. Creation Suite doubles to 200 Create-A-Superstar slots and supports 2,000 images with advanced morphing. MyFACTION introduces faction chemistry and quick swaps.
A dedicated 2K Showcase mode follows CM Punk's career, narrated by the wrestler himself, with fantasy matches and a gauntlet challenge. As tweeted by @WWEgames, "It wasn’t just wrestling, it was war."
These changes address fan feedback, promising deeper customization and realism, though the new DLC system may divide opinions depending on free content quality.
